Vaishnodevi Temple

Vaishnodevi Temple is a shrine located high in the Trikuta Mountains, accessible only on foot from the town of Katra below. The path ascends through mountainous terrain and includes several smaller shrines, rest stations, and facilities positioned at intervals along the way.

The shrine emerged from an ancient pilgrimage tradition in the Jammu region, with modern administration transferring to a state board in 1986. This shift allowed the site to better organize and manage the steadily growing number of visitors.
