Refuge Quintino Sella au Félik, Mountain hut at 3585 meters in Gressoney-La-Trinité, Italy.
Refuge Quintino Sella au Félik is a mountain hut perched at 3585 meters (11,760 feet) on the edge of the Felik Glacier in the Monte Rosa range. The facility accommodates around 140 mountaineers and provides direct access to the surrounding high peaks.
The refuge was first built in 1885 as a waypoint for mountaineers exploring the Monte Rosa range. A major restoration brought it back into service in 1981 under the management of the CAI Biella section.
The refuge serves as a gathering point for international mountaineers attempting ascents of nearby peaks including Castore, Polluce, and the challenging Lyskamm traverse.
Reach the hut by cable car from Staffal to Passo dei Salati, then continue on a marked three-hour hiking trail with fixed ropes along the mountainside. The high-altitude location means weather can change quickly, so come prepared with proper mountain gear.
The hut sits where hiking routes from the Gressoney and Ayas valleys converge, creating a natural junction for mountain routes in the area. Many climbers use it as a gateway for multi-peak traverses and longer expeditions across the Monte Rosa massif.
