Tropical Beach is an urban beach in Ginowan Seaside Park, set along the coast next to the Okinawa Convention Center, with shallow water and a wide sandy area. The grounds are divided into sections for swimming, sunbathing, and outdoor events.
The beach opened in 1993 and quickly became a go-to spot for residents of Ginowan City. Its development gave the city a public seafront area where none had existed in this form before.
The beach functions as a community gathering point where local residents and tourists come together for barbecues and outdoor activities throughout the year.
The beach is easy to reach during the day, with parking and changing facilities available on site. Its location right next to the convention center makes it straightforward to find, whether you arrive by car or public transport.
The grounds include a dedicated soccer field right on the seafront, which is an unusual feature for an urban beach. During large events, the open layout allows the space to fill with thousands of visitors at once.
