Mount Ibuki Ski Resort was a winter sports facility in Maibara with multiple slopes of varying difficulty levels. The lifts and runs spread across elevations between 420 and 855 meters.
The resort opened in 1956 under Ohmi Railway management and became a winter sports destination for decades. Operations ended when the ski lifts were dismantled in 2010.
The resort transformed into Piste Japon Ibuki following local community demands, reflecting the strong connection between winter sports and regional identity.
The site was accessible by gondola from the valley, with multiple lifts serving slopes for beginners through advanced skiers. Separate areas for children were also provided.
The steepest runs had gradients of about 39 degrees, offering a challenge for experienced riders. These slopes gained popularity among local and regional winter sports enthusiasts.
