Koumi-machi Kōgen Museum of Art

Koumi-machi Kōgen Museum of Art is an art museum in Koumi's highland region that nestles against the slope of Mount Yatsugatake. The building was designed by architect Tadao Ando and integrates subtly into the natural landscape with its angular concrete form.

The museum opened in 1997 and holds works by local artist Kesao Kuribayashi and ceramics by National Living Treasure Tatsuzo Shimaoka. This collection links local artistic heritage with recognized craftsmanship.
