Mount Iwasuge, Mountain summit in Yamanouchi, Japan
Mount Iwasuge rises 2,295 meters above sea level, featuring steep slopes of andesite rock formations within the Japanese Alps mountain range.
The mountain stands as the third highest peak among 26 summits in Shimotakai County, forming part of the ancient volcanic landscape of Nagano Prefecture.
Local communities maintain traditional hiking paths to the summit, connecting multiple religious and natural landmarks throughout the Shiga Kogen region.
Visitors can reach the mountain using the Takamagahara summer lift or Hoppo gondola lift, operating between June and October with access from Yudanaka Station.
