Enoshima Aquarium, Public aquarium in Katasekaigan, Japan
The Enoshima Aquarium spans 14,000 square meters along Katase Beach, housing 26,000 marine animals representing 540 different species from local and international waters.
The facility traces its origins to Marineland, established in 1952 by Nikkatsu president Hisasaku Hori, before reopening as a modern complex in April 2004.
The aquarium received accreditation as a Museum-equivalent facility from the Ministry of Education, contributing to marine research and education in Japan.
The entrance fee is 2,800 yen for adults and 1,300 yen for children between 6 and 12 years old, with free admission for children under 3.
The Sagami Bay Tank recreates the local marine environment, displaying the rich biodiversity of species found in the waters surrounding Enoshima.
