Yanba Ōhashi Bridge

Yanba Ōhashi is a modern cable-stayed bridge that crosses the water behind the Yanba Dam in Gunma Prefecture, connecting communities on either side. The structure uses steel cables anchored to tall towers to support the deck and span the reservoir.

The bridge opened in October 2014 and improved transportation across the Gunma region. It was built to better connect communities that were separated by the reservoir.

The bridge forms part of the engineering heritage of Naganohara, demonstrating Japanese expertise in modern bridge construction and infrastructure development.

The bridge is accessible via Prefectural Road Route 375, which links various parts of the region. Visitors driving across should be prepared for mountain weather conditions that can change quickly.

The bridge structure incorporates tensioned cables supporting the deck, creating an efficient design that maximizes strength while maintaining visual balance.
