赤坂遊園

Akasaka Yuen is an amusement park in Fukuyama featuring more than 20 rides and attractions for all ages. The facility spreads across extensive grounds and combines traditional entertainment experiences with modern attractions.

The park opened in 1989, blending traditional and modern entertainment from its start. Since then, it has become an important place for leisure in the Hiroshima Prefecture region.

The Itsuka-kita-michi section recreates a 1950s Japanese street where visitors can explore vintage game booths and try dishes from local restaurants. Walking through this area gives you a sense of how people enjoyed entertainment and food decades ago.

The grounds are less crowded in the early hours of the day, and wearing sturdy shoes is recommended since there is considerable walking involved. Planning which attractions you want to visit beforehand helps you make the most of your time.

The park keeps a collection of chickens that children can feed. These birds also supply fresh eggs for the restaurants throughout the facility.
