Aoimori Park, Urban park in Nagashima, Japan.
Aoimori Park is a green space covering 1.8 hectares (about 4.4 acres) in the central district of Aomori Prefecture's capital city, with walking paths, gardens, and recreational areas throughout. The park is divided into several zones, including a relaxation area with benches, a playground in the southwestern corner, and a small store in the northwestern section.
Development of the park began in 1982 on the site of the former Aomori Prefectural Central Hospital, with the official opening taking place in June 1985. This transformation converted a medical facility into a public recreational space for the community.
The arboretum section displays trees and flowering plants from each municipality in Aomori Prefecture, helping visitors recognize plants from different parts of their home region. This selection creates a connection between the green space and the people who live and work in the area.
The park is easy to reach on foot and offers different areas for walking and resting that suit visitors of all ages. It is best to visit during daytime to fully enjoy all the zones and amenities throughout the space.
The park marks the terminus of National Route 4 and National Route 7, two of Japan's major highways, with special monuments at each endpoint. This location makes it a notable spot where two significant roads come to their end.
