The stone synagogue building stands at an elevation of 1,150 meters above the Lamartine valley, displaying traditional Middle Eastern architectural elements.
Constructed in 1922, the synagogue served the local Jewish community until its abandonment before the Lebanese civil war started in 1975.
The religious structure followed the Mizrahi rite and Nusach Sefard traditions, under the guidance of the Lebanese Jewish Community Council.
The synagogue remains accessible at coordinates 33°48′18″N 35°39′49″E, located 23 kilometers from Beirut on the main road to Damascus.
While the building structure persists intact, it represents one of only four major synagogues constructed in Lebanon during the 20th century.
