Fakhredine Mosque

Fakhredine Mosque is an Islamic house of worship in Deir el-Qamar distinguished by its octagonal minaret that rises above the town. The building stands on a mountainside, constructed from local stone, marble, and brick in a style typical of the region.

The mosque was established in the late 15th century and marked the beginning of Islamic architecture in this mountain region. A major restoration during the 16th century reinforced its structure and ensured its survival for centuries to come.
