La Grande Roue

La Grande Roue is an observation wheel at Walibi Holland standing 32 meters tall with 22 glass-enclosed cabins offering views across the entire park and surrounding landscape. Each cabin holds six people, with one VIP cabin for four guests and one specially designed cabin for mobility-impaired visitors.

The observation wheel was added to Walibi Holland after 2000 as part of the park's expansion period focused on family entertainment. This growth helped the park increase its range of modern attractions.

The observation wheel reflects how the Netherlands blends engineering skill with leisure design, showing safety and entertainment working together. Visitors experience a successful combination of practical design and modern amusement park technology.

The observation wheel is easy to locate in the park and wait times are typically shorter on quieter weekdays. Visitors should know that boarding each cabin is straightforward, though the climb and views make it worthwhile.

The structure features 32,000 LED lights controlled by specialized FunLeds software that create different patterns throughout the night. This lighting setup makes the wheel a visual highlight of the park, especially after dark.
