The attraction was developed by NOB Decor and ShowQuest Studios and opened in 2000 at Walibi Holland. Vekoma supplied the ride system for this madhouse experience.
The exterior design changed in 2019 when the surrounding area shifted from a Sherwood Forest theme to Wilderness, incorporating graffiti-style artwork on the facade.
The attraction accommodates roughly 1200 visitors per hour with theater-style seating for groups. The entire experience lasts around seven minutes from entry to exit.
The character of Merlin is performed by Dutch-Italian entertainer Beppe Costa, who brings theatrical elements to the pre-show sequence. This live performance adds a human touch and entertainment value to the experience.
