Bhimber District is an administrative division in Azad Kashmir comprising three administrative subdivisions: Barnala, Bhimber, and Samahni. The region encompasses diverse terrain with multiple towns and villages distributed across its area.
The district was established as a separate administrative entity in 1996 following its separation from Mirpur District. This division created a new governance framework for the area.

The main town of Bhimber is accessible via road networks connecting to surrounding regions. Travel through the district is generally managed by overland routes linking to neighboring areas.
Archaeological remains from the Mughal period are found throughout this area, as historical rulers frequently traveled through during their journeys toward Kashmir Valley. These remnants show how important the region was as a passage route.
