Belorus, Health resort in Koreiz, Russia
Belorus is a sanatorium on the Black Sea coast in Koreiz, Crimea, used for health treatment and rehabilitation. The complex sits right on the shoreline and is listed as a regional cultural heritage site in Russia and in the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine.
The sanatorium opened in 1916 and was established from the start as a coastal health facility on the Crimean shore. Over the course of the 20th century it passed under the administration of the President of Belarus, which shaped its current role.
The name Belorus reflects the close tie between this place and the Republic of Belarus, which still owns and operates it today. Visitors can see the ornate facade of the main building, a good example of early 20th-century coastal resort architecture on the Crimean shore.
The complex is located directly on the coast in Koreiz and can be reached by local roads. Since it is an active facility, it is worth checking in advance which areas are open to the public before planning a visit.
The area around Koreiz was already a destination for wealthy visitors from the Russian Empire in the 19th century, drawn by the mild coastal climate, long before any sanatorium was built here. This tradition of seaside recovery made Koreiz one of the first places on the Crimean coast to develop formal health facilities.
