Luce Memorial Chapel

The Luce Memorial Chapel exhibits reinforced concrete construction with dimensions of 19.8 meters in length and 30.48 meters in width at Tunghai University.

The chapel, completed in 1963 at a cost of 125,000 USD, was designed through collaboration between architects Ieoh Ming Pei and Chen Chi-kwan.

This religious structure serves as a country-level monument, offering regular Christian services and memorial events for both university students and public visitors.

The chapel provides wheelchair access throughout its premises and maintains sufficient space to accommodate 400 people during religious gatherings and events.

The architectural design incorporates natural light through strategic window placement, creating varying light patterns across the interior concrete surfaces throughout the day.
