Tidal Wave, Top Spin ride at Flamingo Land, United Kingdom
Tidal Wave was a ride with two rotating arms that carried passenger gondolas through different positions as it operated. The attraction could hold up to 48 people per cycle and provided a thrill experience without the complete inversions of traditional roller coasters.
The ride was built by Vekoma and originally named Waikiki Wave when it opened in 1993 at the park. After operating for 15 years, it was closed in 2008 and later replaced by a different attraction.
This attraction formed part of the thrill rides collection at Flamingo Land alongside other notable roller coasters such as Kumali and Velocity.
The ride was accessible from several spots around the park and offered good views from different angles. Visitors could expect varying wait times depending on when they chose to visit.
The ride mechanism allowed each arm to rotate independently without performing complete inversions, creating different motion patterns for passengers.
