Hawk Springs State Recreation Area

The state park extends across 59 acres on the western shore of Hawk Springs Reservoir, offering outdoor activities including boating, swimming, and camping opportunities.

The Wyoming State Parks Division established Hawk Springs State Recreation Area in 1987 to provide recreational facilities along the southeastern border of Wyoming.

The recreation area attracts fishing enthusiasts throughout the year, making it a central gathering spot for both local and visiting anglers in southeastern Wyoming.

The park maintains 24 primitive campsites available on a first-come-first-serve basis, equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, and seasonal water hydrants.

A blue heron rookery exists at the southern end of the reservoir, accessible only by boat, where visitors can observe these large wading birds in their natural habitat.
