The water park opened in 1988 as Niagara Splash Park with an investment of 18 million dollars, operating under different management periods until 2006.
The park emerged as part of a downtown development initiative that included entertainment complexes and hotels to revitalize the Niagara Falls area.
The New York State authorities transferred the property to Seneca Gaming Corporation through eminent domain procedures, leading to its subsequent demolition.
The site remains vacant near Seneca Niagara Casino, making it the subject of land ownership disputes between local authorities and the Seneca Nation of Indians.
