Franklin Castle, Victorian single-family residence in Cleveland, Ohio
Franklin Castle is a four-story residence in Cleveland designed in the Queen Anne manner with towers, steep gables and carved stone details on the facade. The building shows asymmetric shapes and varied window sizes that define this architectural approach.
Architects Cudell & Richardson designed the house in the 1880s for a wealthy businessman and his family. Listing on the National Register of Historic Places came in 1982 to preserve the structure as part of local building history.
The interior features German craftsmanship in its wood carvings, stone walls, and detailed ceiling patterns, reflecting the heritage of its original owners.
The property stands at 4308 Franklin Boulevard in the Ohio City neighborhood and can be viewed from the street. As it remains private residential property, access is limited to the exterior view.
More than thirty rooms spread across several floors and connect through narrow corridors and concealed passages. A ballroom on the fourth floor recalls the social gatherings once held here.
