Edgewater Beach, Sand beach in Cleveland, United States
Edgewater Beach is a sandy stretch along Lake Erie on the west side of Cleveland, with designated swimming areas and a fishing pier. Alongside the shoreline, visitors will find sports courts, changing facilities, and marked zones for paddling.
The beach was transformed after Cleveland Metroparks took over management from state authorities in 2013. New facilities and regular upkeep followed, turning what had been a neglected shoreline into a popular public destination.
On summer evenings, open-air events bring live music and regional food vendors to the sand, drawing locals and visitors alike. The beach becomes a gathering spot for community celebrations and informal outdoor concerts.
The beach is best visited in summer when swimming areas are open and most facilities are in use. Parking is available nearby, and the spot is close enough to downtown to reach by public transit as well.
From the shoreline here, you can see both the open lake and Cleveland's downtown skyline at the same time. This kind of view, where water and city sit so close together, is rare along the Great Lakes.
