Mount Saint Macrina

Mount Saint Macrina is a monastery complex with multiple buildings spread across a large property in Pennsylvania, including a five-story yellow brick structure and a former mansion. The grounds serve today as a retreat center and religious gathering place.

The Sisters of St. Basil acquired the former Oak Hill Estate in 1933, which had belonged to coal magnate J.V. Thompson before his financial collapse. This acquisition marked the beginning of the site's transformation into a religious and pilgrimage center.

The site is named after an early Christian saint and draws thousands of pilgrims annually who gather here to practice and celebrate their religious traditions together.
