The house, constructed in 1875, earned recognition on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 through efforts of the West Virginia Federation of Women's Clubs.
The museum preserves manuscripts and memorabilia from Pearl S. Buck, who received both the Nobel Prize and Pulitzer Prize for her literary contributions.
Visitors can participate in guided tours that explore twelve rooms filled with original furniture, photographs, and documents from the Nobel laureate's early years.
The property includes the restored Stulting Barn with antique farm implements that demonstrate agricultural methods from the late 1800s in Appalachian America.
