Established in 1984, this park marks the location where archaeological findings confirm the presence of Taino settlements before Spanish colonization.
The central ceiba tree holds deep significance in Puerto Rican heritage, represented in Francisco Oller's 1888 impressionist landscape displayed at Museo de Arte de Ponce.
Located on Comercio Street along urban route PR-133, the municipal park provides access to both residential and commercial areas of the neighborhood.
The park's namesake ceiba tree produces fibers eight times lighter than cotton and five times more buoyant than cork, historically used in life preservers.
