Slocum's River Reserve

Slocum's River Reserve is a protected area in Dartmouth with river frontage and a network of walking trails. The paths wind through woodlands, open fields, and former agricultural areas that now form part of the conservation landscape.

The land was originally Island View Farm before being converted into a protected area in 1999. This transformation made the property available for environmental education and research activities.

The Trustees of Reservations and Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust jointly manage this protected space for environmental education and research.

The main access point is located on Horseneck Road and leads to approximately 2 miles of marked paths. The trails are well maintained and suitable for casual walking and observing local wildlife.

The property connects to Dartmoor Farm Wildlife Management Area through adjacent private farmland that grows corn and other field crops. This agricultural connection shows how conservation and traditional farming coexist in the region.
