Wabasha Street Bridge, Road bridge in Saint Paul, US

The Wabasha Street Bridge spans the Mississippi River with two separate decks for northbound and southbound traffic, featuring wide sidewalks and observation points.

The current structure, opened in 1998, replaced an 1889 iron cantilever deck-truss bridge that was listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

In 2002, the bridge received the name Wabasha Street Freedom Bridge to commemorate the first anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

The bridge includes 11-foot-wide sidewalks, six viewing areas at pier locations, and a stairway providing access to Raspberry Island.

The structure's color scheme mirrors Saint Paul's architecture, with buff tones matching downtown sandstone buildings and green accents reflecting the cathedral's patina.
