Terrapin Point, Scenic viewpoint at Niagara Falls State Park, United States
Terrapin Point stands at the western edge of Goat Island, providing direct views of the Horseshoe Falls and the lower Niagara River gorge.
The site originated as Terrapin Rocks in the 1800s, with a wooden bridge and observation tower constructed by the Porter brothers in 1827.
The observation area serves as a gathering place where visitors from different nations meet to experience the natural power of Niagara Falls.
The observation deck remains open throughout the year and includes paved pathways, safety railings, and informational signs about the waterfall formations.
The United States Army Corps of Engineers removed 25,000 tons of unstable rock in 1983 to create the current viewing platform configuration.
