Erdenheim Farm, Historic agricultural estate in Whitemarsh Valley, Pennsylvania, US.
Erdenheim Farm is an agricultural estate spanning 450 acres where Black Angus cattle, Cheviot sheep, and Morgan horses graze across rolling fields. The property borders Wissahickon Creek and operates a farm stand selling beef, fresh produce, eggs, and honey made on site.
German immigrant Johannes Hocker founded the farm in 1765 and named it Erdenheim, meaning Earthly Home in his native language. The property has operated continuously as a working agricultural enterprise since its establishment more than 250 years ago.
The farm opens its gates through guided tours where visitors watch how animals are raised and crops grow in working fields. People come here to understand where their food actually comes from and how the daily work happens on a working property.
You can buy fresh produce, beef, eggs, and honey directly at the farm stand using items produced on the property. Plan ahead by checking when the stand is open and wear appropriate clothing for walking through working fields.
The property keeps around 400 hens and operates 20 beehives that produce honey each year. These smaller operations quietly contribute to feeding the surrounding community with homegrown food.
