細倉マインパーク

Hosokura Mine Park is a theme park built on the grounds of a former mining operation in the Kurihara region. It features indoor and outdoor roller coasters, mountain rides, and displays of old machinery, rock exhibits, and written records showing how mining once worked.

The location started as a mining operation in the 9th century and ran for roughly a thousand years. The mines closed in 1987, and the grounds later became a park that keeps the industrial past visible.

The site demonstrates how an industrial place was transformed into a leisure destination while keeping its mining past alive. Visitors walk past original work areas where miners once labored, experiencing the location's heritage directly.

Visitors can move between rides and exhibits at their own pace since everything is spread across the grounds. It is best to wear comfortable shoes, as you will walk a lot between different areas.

The park holds the first indoor roller coaster in the entire Tohoku region, making it a rare attraction not found elsewhere nearby. This mix of modern rides and a historic mining site creates a place where fun and the past meet in an uncommon way.
