Miho Bunka Land, Entertainment park in Shizuoka, Japan
Miho Bunka Land was an amusement and educational park located on the Miho Peninsula, featuring scale model replicas of famous buildings and monuments from around the world. It offered swimming pools, a miniature railway, and dedicated learning spaces run by Tokai University as a public education venue.
The park was founded by Tokai University and opened in 1973, receiving a royal visit from the Emperor and Empress of Japan in 1974. It closed permanently in 2007, ending decades of operation as a public learning destination.
The International Culture Pavilion displayed historical artifacts, traditional costumes, and cultural exhibitions from Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, and Nordic countries.
The site was located on the scenic Miho Peninsula, making it a day-trip destination that combined natural surroundings with indoor and outdoor attractions. The various facilities were designed for visitors of all ages, from swimming and recreation to guided educational experiences.
The park was notable for its extensive collection of miniature building replicas, including models of the Taj Mahal, the Kremlin, and London's Tower Bridge displayed across the grounds. Many of these structures remained on site long after closure, serving as reminders of the ambitious project.
