Soyosan

Soyosan rises to 587 meters above sea level in Dongducheon and features steep trails through dense forests and rocky terrain. The different routes guide visitors through varied landscapes with changing difficulty levels.

The mountain holds two Buddhist shrines honoring the Silla-period priests Wonhyo and Uisang, who made significant contributions to Korean Buddhism. These religious sites connect the location to a long spiritual tradition.

The mountain has served as a place for Buddhist practice for centuries, and the Jajaeam temple on its slope shapes the spiritual experience of visitors today.

Multiple hiking trails start near Soyosan subway station with clear markings for different difficulty levels. It is advisable to wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring adequate water, especially for longer routes.

The mountain contains natural spring wells and small waterfalls, forming part of the respected collection of Korea's 100 Noted Mountains. These water sources create refreshing moments throughout the hiking experience.
