Quintin Blair House

The Quintin Blair House is a single-family residence in Cody designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, featuring locally quarried sandstone walls and floor-to-ceiling glass panels with mitered corners in the living room. The home sits on a 40-acre parcel with a small spring-fed pond positioned below the main structure.

Wright designed the residence in 1952 and directed its construction entirely by telephone, never visiting the building site himself. This project demonstrates his ability to implement designs remotely and realize his vision despite physical distance.

The residence demonstrates Wright's philosophy of harmony between building and nature through its integration with the surrounding landscape and repeated geometric patterns. The open floor plan and extensive glass walls create a flowing connection between interior and exterior spaces.

The residence is located on private property outside town and is difficult to access, so visitors should plan ahead and gather local information before visiting. The location is best suited for those willing to travel some distance to see the architecture.
