South Twin Mountain

South Twin Mountain is a summit in New Hampshire's White Mountains rising to approximately 1,500 meters (4,900 feet). The peak features exposed rock and sits surrounded by thick spruce and fir forests that define the high elevation environment.

The mountain became incorporated into the White Mountain National Forest protection system. This designation helped preserve the natural landscape from significant development over time.

The summit draws hikers seeking to explore peaks across the region as part of their journeys through the White Mountains. Many who visit find it meaningful to add another mountain to their personal list of accomplishments.

Access comes via the North Twin Trail, which involves multiple stream crossings that become difficult after heavy rain or spring snowmelt. Always check water conditions before starting your hike and allow extra time for the journey.

From the summit you can see eight surrounding mountain ranges including the Presidential Range and Franconia Ridge with nothing blocking your view. This far-reaching perspective makes the peak a special vantage point in the region.
