Bellows School, Historic educational building in Franklinton, Columbus, United States

The Bellows School features Renaissance Revival architecture with a limestone foundation, carved sandstone entrance, and detailed Neoclassical foliate elements throughout the structure.

Built in 1905 with a budget of $45,200, the school was designed by architect David Riebel to accommodate 350 students and 11 teachers in its 13 classrooms.

The school bears the name of George Bellows Senior, an architect and father of the renowned artist George Bellows of the Ash Can School movement.

Located at 725 Bellows Avenue, the structure served students from Town Street to Greenlawn Avenue until its closure in 1977.

The Ohio Historic Preservation Office recognized the building's eligibility for the National Register of Historic Places in 2006, leading to preservation discussions.
