Granzella's, Italian restaurant and bar in Williams, California
Granzella's is an Italian restaurant, delicatessen, and bar in Williams, a small town in California's Sacramento Valley along Interstate 5. The menu covers deli sandwiches, pizzas, Italian dishes, and house-brewed beers, and the space is divided between a dining room and a sports lounge.
The business opened in 1976 as a small delicatessen counter serving travelers passing through on the highway. In 1984, a full restaurant and pizza operation was added, giving the place the form it still has today.
The name comes from the founding families and the place has long been a gathering spot for locals and travelers stopping off the highway. Television screens are spread around the dining area, and people tend to linger over food and drinks while watching games together.
The restaurant sits right off an Interstate 5 exit, making it easy to spot and reach whether you are heading north or south through the valley. Parking is generally available nearby, and the place serves food throughout most of the day.
Next to the dining area, there is a shop carrying over 150 beer varieties alongside imported Italian goods available to buy and take away. This makes the stop useful not just for a meal, but also for picking up something to bring home from the road.
