The United States Bureau of Reclamation completed this concrete gravity dam in 1910 as part of the Orland Project for agricultural irrigation purposes.
The dam features a control house built in pagoda style and contains curved labyrinth-spillway fins, representing early 20th-century engineering design.
Visitors pay an entrance fee of 8 dollars for day use access, while overnight camping costs between 15 and 20 dollars per site.
The reservoir at East Park Dam recorded extreme temperatures ranging from 115°F in July 1988 to 3°F in December 1932.
