Clear Lake State Park

Clear Lake State Park encompasses a diverse landscape with wetlands, oak woodlands, and the largest natural freshwater lake within California's borders.

Established in 1949, the park preserves the natural heritage of Lake County and provides access to Clear Lake, the oldest lake in North America.

Native American communities inhabited the shores of Clear Lake for thousands of years, using its resources for fishing, gathering, and maintaining their traditions.

The park maintains four campground areas with 147 developed sites, multiple boat ramps, hiking trails, and designated swimming zones throughout the seasons.

Clear Lake contains a population of native Clear Lake hitch fish, which swim upstream in spring, creating a natural spectacle observed nowhere else.
