Flamingo Las Vegas, Casino resort on Las Vegas Strip, US
Flamingo Las Vegas is a casino resort on the Las Vegas Strip in Clark County featuring roughly 3500 rooms and pink exterior walls. Multiple gaming areas, tropical gardens, and a wildlife habitat spread across its property of about 15 acres (6 hectares).
Bugsy Siegel opened the Flamingo in 1946 as the third resort on the Las Vegas Strip, introducing a new standard for accommodations in Nevada. The building was later expanded and redesigned several times, yet remained at its original location.
Live performances take place in the showroom, carrying forward a tradition of entertainment that artists like Pearl Bailey once helped establish. The pink facade recalls the original vision and turns the building into a recognizable landmark along the Strip.
The complex has a Las Vegas Monorail station, offering connections to other attractions along the eastern side of the Strip. The tropical habitat is open to the public and provides a short walk between gaming areas.
A wildlife habitat houses Chilean flamingos, swans, ducks, and koi fish in a garden setting inside the casino complex. Visitors can observe the birds up close without leaving the property.
