Bellagio Hotel & Casino, Mediterranean resort and casino on Las Vegas Strip, USA
Bellagio Hotel & Casino is a multi-story resort in Paradise along the Las Vegas Strip. The building rises 36 stories with nearly four thousand rooms and stands before an artificial lake covering more than eight acres.
Steve Wynn opened the resort on October 15, 1998, on the site of the former Dunes Hotel. The project cost roughly 1.6 billion dollars and aimed to create a Mediterranean luxury resort in the desert.
The botanical display changes with the seasons and shows new arrangements of thousands of flowers and trees each time. Visitors often see wedding couples taking photographs among the plants, while the art gallery regularly hangs works ranging from Monet to Warhol.
The gaming area covers more than 156,000 square feet (14,500 sq m) with table games, slot machines, and a separate poker room. Visitors can move freely through the public areas, while some restaurants and facilities require reservations.
The water display in front of the building uses more than a thousand nozzles that shoot water up to 460 feet (140 m) high. Each show lasts about five minutes and combines music with precisely controlled water movements.
