Golf Club Matterhorn

Golf Club Matterhorn is a 9-hole facility located in the Matter valley at high altitude, surrounded by prominent peaks. The course uses multiple tee positions to create different playing options and routing variations.

A Scottish architect designed this golf facility, which developed into a significant sports center in the Valais region. Over the decades, the course has become an established alpine golf destination.

The clubhouse serves as a gathering place for golfers from the region and beyond, where people meet for tournaments and social events. The facility represents a long golfing tradition in this alpine valley and draws both newcomers and experienced players.

The best access is by train from Zermatt, since the region is car-free and regular connections run throughout the day. Visitors should prepare for high altitude and changing mountain weather conditions, particularly if unaccustomed to elevation.

The course offers a distinctive feature: golfers can play 18 different holes by using alternate tee positions at the 9 holes. This flexibility provides varied rounds and expands playing options within a compact footprint.
