Dom Hut, Mountain hut at 2940 meters in Randa, Switzerland
The Dom Hut stands on the western slope near the Festigletscher glacier, providing access to multiple climbing routes in the Pennine Alps region.
The Swiss Alpine Club established this mountain refuge in 1890 as a base camp for mountaineers attempting to reach the summit of Dom peak.
The structure holds class B Swiss cultural property status, representing the regional mountaineering heritage and traditional alpine expedition practices of Valais canton.
Visitors need to complete a challenging 4-hour ascent from Randa village, covering 5.3 kilometers and climbing 1532 meters to reach the hut.
The refuge serves as the primary starting point for climbers targeting seven major Alpine peaks, including the 4545-meter Dom summit.
