Ocean Beach

Ocean Beach is a sand beach along Ratcliffe Bay in Western Australia, stretching between Wilson Inlet and the Nullaki Peninsula. The shore features light-colored sand and a scenic coastal setting where beach meets water.

The beach has been used for recreation over the decades and developed into an important local destination. An unexpected visit by an emperor penguin in 2024, after traveling from Antarctica, brought the place international attention.

The beach serves as a gathering place for the local community, especially during warmer months when lifeguards are present and water safety programs run regularly. The beach culture shapes the social life of the area and draws both residents and visitors together.

The beach has parking, toilets, showers, and a kiosk for basic needs. From December to March, lifeguards patrol the area and make swimming safer.

A network of cycling paths and walking trails connects the beach to the surrounding region and offers visitors different ways to explore. These routes let people discover the coastal landscape at their own pace.
