Policlínico Ferroviario Central, Railway medical center in Retiro, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The nine-story medical facility spans over 10,000 square meters and contains more than 700 beds for patient care and medical services.
Inaugurated in 1954 through railway unions La Fraternidad and Union Ferroviaria, the hospital operated until its closure in 1999 due to railway privatization.
The facility served as a teaching hospital where medical students completed their residencies and international medical conferences were held regularly.
The building stands at Retiro district, accessible through multiple bus lines including 101, 23, 28, and 5 that connect different parts of Buenos Aires.
This medical center became the first hospital in the region to acquire an extracorporeal circulation pump for lung operations from Brazil.
