Mihanovich Tower, Architectural office tower in Retiro, Argentina
The Mihanovich Tower rises 80 meters above Buenos Aires with a geometric design that incorporates decorative elements characteristic of 1920s architectural styles.
Commissioned by shipping magnate Nicolas Mihanovich, this tower stood as Latin America's highest building from its completion in 1929 until the construction of Kavanagh Building in 1936.
The building represents a period when Buenos Aires experienced rapid growth, with numerous European architects bringing modern construction techniques to Argentina's capital.
Located at Arroyo 841, the tower contains 144 rooms as part of the hotel complex, with direct access to public transportation and major city attractions.
The structure incorporates materials from ship hulls and features the first implementation of in-wall wind braces in Argentine construction history.
