Brandy Creek Beach

Brandy Creek Beach is a sandy shoreline along Whiskeytown Lake in northern California, surrounded by trees and mountains. The beach offers natural shade and sits within a forested, hilly landscape that frames the water on all sides.

Following the Carr Fire of 2018, heavy rainfall deposited sediment that permanently changed the depth and shape of the shoreline. These natural shifts continue to influence how the beach looks today.

The beach serves as a meeting place where locals and visitors gather to enjoy California's water recreation traditions. You will find families and groups spending time together on the shore and in the water throughout the season.

You can rent kayaks and paddleboards during summer months, with free youth life jackets available from Memorial Day through Labor Day. A seasonal beach store sells refreshments and equipment, though dogs and alcohol are not permitted.

The beach has an unusual story following the Carr Fire, as newly deposited sediments completely changed the swimming conditions. Many visitors do not notice that the current shoreline took on a relatively new form shaped by natural events.
