Playa de Súa

Located along the Pacific coast, Playa de Súa extends across a half-moon bay with clear waters and light-colored sand bordered by green hills.

The beach developed into a tourist destination during the 1960s when the first hotels were constructed along the Esmeraldas coastline near fishing settlements.

Local fishermen maintain traditional practices by launching their wooden boats from the beach each morning to collect fresh catches for nearby restaurants.

Visitors can rent beach chairs and umbrellas from vendors along the shoreline, while numerous seafood restaurants line the beachfront promenade.

The bay's protected position creates exceptionally calm waters throughout the year, making it one of the safest swimming beaches in northern Ecuador.
