The Torre Urban Plaza features a cylindrical design covered in curved tempered glass, granite, and steel elements reaching 16 floors in height.
Construction of the Torre Urban Plaza began in December 2008 and concluded in September 2009, with an official inauguration attended by Ecuador's vice president.
The building received the Gold Medal at the 2009 Miami Architecture Biennial and the 2009 City Ornate Award from the Municipality of Quito.
The structure incorporates computer-controlled mechanical systems, fiber optic communications, and houses multiple corporate entities including Banco del Pacífico.
The circular design allows for 360-degree views from within, reflecting the continuous flow of traffic around Plaza Artigas in the financial district.
