Forêt Classé de Kou

The Forêt Classé de Kou is a protected nature reserve spanning about 115 hectares with three distinct vegetation zones including open forest, shrub forest, and dense forest. These different woodland types create varied habitats across the landscape.

The forest received its protected status through a colonial administration decree in 1936 that established it as a classified natural space. This early protective measure became the foundation for its ongoing conservation.
