Mercado Indio

Mercado Indio is a handicraft market in Miraflores that spreads across four city blocks on Petit Thouars Avenue, with hundreds of stalls selling traditional Peruvian handmade goods. You find pottery, alpaca textiles, jewelry, and objects with pre-Columbian designs from all parts of the country.

The market was created to give indigenous artisans a central place to sell their work and has remained an important spot for traditional crafts ever since. Many techniques sold here have been passed down through generations in villages across the country.

The market is open daily, with extended hours on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. It is easy to walk between the stalls, and most vendors can show you where their products come from.
